August 15, 2007: John Bennett Joins Western Bank

ST. PAUL, MN, AUGUST 15, 2007: John Bennett joins Western Bank as their newest Vice President of Commercial Banking and will be located at the St. Paul branch on University Avenue. Bennett is not a new face in St. Paul. He brings more then 25 years of banking experience and community volunteering. Formerly of University Bank, Bennett appreciates St. Paul and looks forward to growing with Western Bank.

“I enjoy being part of a team element and Western Bank supports that whole heartedly” says Bennett. He is looking to nurture his loan portfolio and create new relationships; as he puts it, “building on life’s resume.” Another of his mottos is, “If you give great service first the business just naturally follows. That’s what I plan to do.”

Tony Lemaire, Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking at Western Bank is glad to have Bennett on his team. “It is wonderful to welcome someone like John. All of his experiences, community connections and hard work make this a great fit.”

Bennett is not a new face in St. Paul. Many people know him as King Boreas LXVIII of the 2004 Winter Carnival. During his one year reign, he made about 400 public appearances, 250 of which were outside the 10 day Winter Carnival. Being King isn’t the only volunteering he does. Bennett is associated with more then 15 community giving organizations. His generosity stretches internationally as well, through forming and operating the Carolina Foundation. Building schools, libraries and providing educational opportunities to children in Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Western Bank, one of the leading business lenders in the Twin Cities, has assets of over $350 million. Other Western Bank offices are located in Edina, Minneapolis, Oakdale, Mounds View, and Maplewood.
